As a rule, according to GOST 8239 you can find I-beams with sizes from 10 to 20 , according to GOSTR57837-2017 (formerly STO ASChM 20-93) I-beams 23 - 26 B, W and K are NOT , and I-beams 80 or more are practically impossible to find. They are re-negotiated for welded options. We strongly recommend that you take this into account when drawing up project documentation.
I-beams in accordance with GOST 26020-83 are also offered by traders extremely rarely and with a very limited choice, so we recommend using GOSTR57837-2017 (formerly STO ASChM 20-93) to determine the sizes and load-bearing characteristics that suit you.
Important!!! Please note that in Russia, I-beams are produced mainly in accordance with GOSTR57837-2017 (formerly STO ASChM 20-93), according to other GOSTs only some standard sizes are produced.

I-beams are profiled metal products, which have the letter “H” in cross-section. I-beams come in several types.
The index after the first two digits in the name of the beam determines the type of profiles along the width of the shelves:
Beam with a slope of the internal edges of the shelves | Beam with parallel flange edges |
without a letter | U - narrow-flange beam (less than the width of normal I-beams); |
M - beam for overhead tracks | B - normal beam; |
Ш - wide-flange beam; | |
D - mid-flange beam - an additional series with a flange width between normal and wide-flange I-beams; | |
K - column beam with a flange width approximately equal to the profile height. |
Column beams are used to construct vertical columns.
Conventional beams (index “B”) are used for horizontal floors.
Wide-flange beams, like regular beams, are used for horizontal floors, but are characterized by increased resistance to loads.
Bridge (monorail) beams are used to construct suspended tracks.

The length of the beam can be in the range from 4 to 12 m.
