Before drilling the holes, the washers did not even need to be marked - their surface is slightly convex and on the way from the factory to the store, a slight abrasion forms right in the middle. The process of combining regular pillows with homemade spacers was very simple. First, the radiator mounting rods were unscrewed. Next came the nuts and bolts that secure the body to the chassis. And then, using two hydraulic jacks, they lifted the body one by one from the rear, front and side, inserting washers. The standard mounting bolts, of course, had to be replaced with longer ones.

Another small improvement is the installation of longer springs than the Gazelle. The only difficulty associated with this is that the standard Gazelle bolt for attaching the earring has a smaller diameter than the holes in the UAZ rubber bushings. Therefore, we had to put sections of water pipe on the bolts. After the body was screwed to the frame and new earrings took their place, all that remained was to adjust the angle of the radiator. Now the 35 wheels are simply surprised in the extended arches. Please note that all work was completed by one person in 2 days.

WHAT IS COMPLETED

With new tires the car began to look very impressive. The distance, which for a UAZ with military bridges is 30 centimeters, has increased by 8-9 centimeters.

After the car started, it became clear that the throttle was too “low” and the engine roared at high speeds without any interference. However, there was no need to drill an additional hole, it was already in the right place!

During test maneuvers, it turned out that the reverse gear did not engage - the body rose and the groove of the gear shift lever shifted. The problem was solved by some work with the file. And that's it, there are no more side effects. But one of the advantages of the “lift” is that the gas tanks have risen to the level of the chassis and have become more protected.

I would say that the main advantages of the suspension lift on the UAZ are the improvement of the geometric cross-country ability of the UAZ, due to the fact that the wheels remain in their places, and everything else is raised, except for the axles, of course. UAZ-3151 and UAZ-31512 have a second removable cross member. Installing the axle spacer

The front and rear axles of the UAZ 469 are attached to the spring with stepladders. A spacer is provided between the spring and the surface of the axle housing. To avoid longitudinal displacement of the spring when the car is moving, the insert is equipped with a spike connection.

To increase the distance between the spring and the bridge, install a thicker insert. It will not be possible to achieve a noticeable lift from replacing the spacer. Using this method will allow you to raise the car by 2 - 3 cm.

IMPORTANT: When selecting a spacer, you should take into account the length of the stepladders securing the spring to the bridge.

Spring preload

Some car owners install springs on the car for the UAZ 469 elevator. They are mounted between the bridge and the frame. The installation of springs is aimed at lifting and giving the suspension softness when driving off-road. For installation, make homemade ones or purchase ready-made brackets.
